8 openings for Portuguese (Continental and Brazilian) Language Instructor. ICLS has been supporting the language contract for DoS/FSI/SLS for over 28 years. The Language instructor positions are full-time, requiring 8 hours a day and 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. The work must be completed in-person at FSI's campus in Arlington, VA. Become an Assessment Content Developer for MYP Portuguese Language and Literature

As part of assessment processes, the International Baccalaureate (IB) works with educators in a variety of different roles. We are currently looking recruit Assessment Content Developers for our Middle Years Programme Portuguese Language and Literature course.

Assessment content developers (ACDs) are involved in the creation and fine-tuning of assessments to ensure that they are fit for purpose. There are four tasks that an ACD can be asked to undertake for a given set of assessments – assessment author, external advisor, standardizer and scrutineer.

The position of ACD is part-time, involves no relocation and is usually undertaken in addition to existing work commitments. An ACD works closely with IB staff during the whole publication process to revise and amend assessment content and respond to queries. Depending on the subject, an ACD may be asked by the IB to work independently or as part of an authoring team working closely with other ACDs to review each other’s work.

Most tasks can be completed online via our secure systems. An ACD may be required to participate in virtual or face-to-face meetings during the assessment publication process.

Applicants must have:

  • a degree or equivalent in the subject (or a related subject) for which they are applying,

  • a minimum of two year’s experience teaching the subject (or a related subject) to students of 11 to 16 years of age,

  • a detailed, up-to-date knowledge of the subject for which they are applying,

  • the ability to communicate, read documents and write reports in English,

  • a high level of enthusiasm for the use of technology in assessment processes, including the use of eMarking tools and on-screen assessment,

  • no perceived conflict of interest from involvement with schools or students taking this assessment.
